Christine Hootman has been selected as the managing director of Baden Gage & Schroeder, LLC effective “Chris will be the first female managing director of a CPA firm of this size based in Indiana,” explains Perry Schroeder. “I have great confidence in her ability to lead and succeed with the organization that she has helped to build.” Hootman joined Baden Gage & Schroeder in 1987 and within 10 years became a director. Her CPA practice focuses on providing audit and consulting services for manufacturers, distributors, construction and service companies. Her experience also includes sale/buy advisory and acquisition services, and litigation support. In 2010 Hootman was honored with the Indiana CPA Society Chair Award for her outstanding service to the profession. “We are so fortunate to have Perry as one of our founders and as a mentor. Kara M. Smith, CPA, has joined Baden Gage & Schroeder as a Senior Tax Manager. Kara brings over 16 years of tax experience specializing in tax consulting and services. Her practice focuses on consultations in business structure, buy/sell scenarios, growth planning, estate planning, and tax reduction strategies.
January 1, 2012. She will succeed Perry Schroeder, one of the founding directors of the firm who will become an adviser to the executive committee, as well as continuing to serve clients.

Baden, Gage & Schroeder, LLC is pleased to announce that Tina M. Perez, CPA, has earned the Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) designation.
This certification was granted by the Institute of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals, Inc. (ICCIFP) a not-for-profit corporation established in 2003 to promote the highest standards of construction financial management through the credentialing of construction financial professionals. ICCIFP is an independent, separately incorporated entity affiliated with the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) that issues credentials to individuals who successfully meet its standards.

Tina is a Senior Manager in the Construction Industry Services Group at Baden, Gage & Schroeder. She has over 25 years of professional experience and specializes in providing auditing, accounting and tax services for clients in the construction, service, wholesale and not-for-profit industries.
Hootman Named 2010 Chair Award Recipient
Baden, Gage & Schroeder, LLC is pleased to announce that Christine K. Hootman, CPA was honored by the Indiana CPA Society at their annual CPA Celebration on November 19. Chris is the 2010 recipient of the prestigious Chair's Award for outstanding dedication and service to the CPA profession. The award was presented to Chris by Douglas Roth, CPA, 2009-10 Chair of the Indiana CPA Society Board and Manager of Internal Audit at Do it Best Corp. in Fort Wayne.
Chris is a member of Baden, Gage & Schroeder's Executive Committee and has been a Director in the firm for over 13 years. Her practice focuses on providing audit and attest services for manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors. In addition to being an outstanding consultant and business advisor to her clients, Chris is a mentor and advisor to other professionals, including her associates at Baden, Gage & Schroeder, alumni and to others just joining the profession. She is active in recruiting and passionately speaks to college students about the advantages of public accounting and the accounting profession as a whole.
Chris is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Indiana CPA Society and the Ohio CPA Society. She is active in the community and serves on several boards, including the Fort Wayne Sports Corporation and Financial Executives International. Chris has also been a member of the Indiana CPA Society's Future Issues Task Force and the Nominating Committee. Chris is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of The Defiance College.
